About

Biology uses chemically heterogeneous polymers—such as peptides and proteins—to engineer materials with diverse structures and properties. These structures and properties are programmed by the composition, sequence, and microenvironment of biopolymers. Our group exploits biopolymers—or biological principles of polymer confinement in nanopores—to unlock novel functionalities in materials. We combine concepts from polymer science, protein science, and inorganic chemistry to accomplish these goals.
